A Florida man who allegedly carjacked an ambulance, crashed it and fled the scene was arrested days after he tried to flee from law enforcement, authorities said.
American Medical Response (AMR) supervisors said they encountered the crash on the exit ramp from southbound Interstate 75 to westbound Interstate 4 around 2 a.m. Thursday. Ta. fox tampa report. The crash involved a pickup truck that was later determined to have been stolen, authorities said.
One man was seen running down the road embankment while another man was seen standing in the roadway. The man, identified as Gregory Brian McGull, jumped into an ambulance and took off.

Authorities said he skidded his Nissan Altima while driving, leading Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies on a chase. They lost sight of Mr McGull, 36, but a camera system inside the ambulance alerted AMR that the ambulance had crashed just before 2:10am.
The vehicle was found abandoned.
McGull was spotted Monday night in a Nissan Altima driven by Jerry Skidmore, 42, who has an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Footage from the scene taken from a police helicopter shows the car being stopped by officers at a gas station as it attempted to flee.
McGull is charged with numerous charges, including criminal mischief over $1,000, grand theft of a motor vehicle, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, carjacking, criminal mischief and aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.

Skidmore’s charges include three counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, two counts of fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, and two counts of driving on a revoked license.
AMR told media outlets that the safety of its patients and team is its top priority.
“We greatly appreciate the continued efforts of the Florida Highway Patrol and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office on this issue,” the company said in a statement.
