Throughout her seven-decade career, Carol Burnett has shared the screen with some of the most iconic performers of all time, including Elvis Presley.
The actress, who is currently promoting her new show Palm Royale, recalled the moment she first met the King of Rock and Roll in an interview with Stephen Colbert.
After the “Late Show” host revealed that the stage they were currently filming on was the same stage Presley performed on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” Burnett revealed that was the moment the two first met. revealed.

“Well, when Elvis was in the military, I was performing,” Barnett said. “They did a big thing on stage when he was in the army, and they put me on first.”

Burnett said she met Presley after the performance and that he was “very sweet.”
“I got it signed for my sister,” she added.
Colbert then asked how Presley inspired Burnett’s song “I Made A Fool Of Myself Over John Foster Dulles.”

“John Foster Dulles in the ’50s was a very worthy Secretary of State,” Barnett explained. “He was very dull and there was nothing there. I remember him wearing this overcoat and hat and never smiling.”
“I had a special song written by a friend of mine called ‘I Made A Fool Of Myself Over John Foster Dulles,'” she added. “Everyone was obsessed with Elvis, so he wrote this song about a young girl who was obsessed with John Foster Dulles.”
Earlier this month, Burnett, who rose to television fame in 1967 by appearing on her own variety show, The Carol Burnett Show, on CBS, spoke to Extra about her plans to continue working as long as possible.

“I always approach this job as something new that I’ve never done before, so I’m just happy to be able to work and have all my parts,” she said. He told the same media. “I think I have the hips and the knees and the brain, so as long as I can keep that up and work, I want to work.”
Barnett, who will celebrate his 91st birthday on April 26, admitted he would like to see the Palm Royale renovated.
“It keeps me working and that’s what I like. Yes, as long as it’s fun, that’s what I want,” she said.
