An illegal immigrant was arrested in Alabama on suspicion of raping a “mentally incompetent” 14-year-old girl, and the state’s senator accused President Joe Biden of “aiding and abetting a monster.”
Pablo Mendoza, 23, was arrested Monday in Enterprise, Alabama, and charged with first-degree rape in connection with a Feb. 20 incident involving an underage girl. NBC15 reported.
The 14-year-old girl was unable to consent because she was “physically incapacitated or mentally incapacitated,” the paper said, citing a complaint filed in Coffee County court.
Sheriff Scott Byrd said Mendoza, who is in the U.S. illegally, will be deported to his home country once his case is concluded. told WDHN. The suspect’s hometown was not immediately clear.
Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville responded to the arrest by slamming Biden.
“This is Pablo Mendoza. He’s an illegal alien who was just arrested in south Alabama for raping a mentally disabled 14-year-old girl.” he wrote to x.
“Aiding and abetting these monsters,” Biden wrote, adding the hashtag #SayHerName.
Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas) also took aim at the commander-in-chief.
“Joe Biden did this.” he wrote to xThere, he shared a post from Libs of TikTok that read, “Biden’s open borders allow prostitutes and criminals to roam our country and harm Americans.”
On Monday, House Republican leadership sent a letter to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials requesting testimony about “zero impact” on immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally.
“The average number of detainees per day in fiscal year 2023 was nearly half of what it was in fiscal year 2019,” the letter states.
“ICE removed only half the number of aliens from the country during the same period in 2019.” Mendoza was being held in the Coffee County Jail without bail pending a hearing with Judge Joshua Wilson. .
