Michael Porter Jr. doubts Jontay Porter gambling scheme involvement

Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr. doesn’t believe there’s a fire despite seeing heavy smoke surrounding his brother Jontay Porter.

“I’ve known my brother my whole life, I know the type of guy he is, I know he’s excited to play basketball, and I know he’s willing to put it at risk. I highly doubt they would do anything that would expose them to that.” Michael said of Jontay:.

The NBA is currently investigating suspicious betting patterns involving the player prop that caused Jontay to miss two games.

Jontay, a fringe NBA player who has been in and out of the league for the past four years, has only been featured in player props a few times.

His under was one of DraftKings’ biggest losses this season.

A bettor posted an unconfirmed ticket on DraftKings for a massive $80,000 bet and won $1.2 million by betting on Jontay’s under.

The Post reported Tuesday that Jontay promoted gambling through burner social media accounts during the 2022 March Madness tournament.

Jontay was signed to a 10-day contract in December, giving him the opportunity to play with the Raptors and giving him a season-long deal.

Michael, a star role player for the Denver Nuggets, is currently on a five-year contract worth $180 million, while Jontay makes just $415,000 a year, near the league minimum.

In 2022, Jontai was not participating in the league, so he did not violate any rules while promoting gambling.

However, NBA players are not allowed to bet on basketball under any circumstances.

If Jontay had been on the NBA roster at the time of his tweet, he would have been banned from gambling on basketball and would have faced harsh consequences if caught.

The NBA investigation is ongoing, and Jontay has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
