A harrowing video has been released showing the moment a cement truck collided with a school bus carrying pre-school students returning from a trip to the zoo, killing a boy and a man in Texas.

Video taken from the front and side cameras shows the cement truck veering across the double yellow line and colliding with the bus almost head-on, causing it to overturn.

Someone could be heard screaming just before the collision, a fireball appeared to explode as the bus hit the ground, and crash debris could be seen flying around.

Dashcam video has been released showing a cement truck plowing into a school bus carrying pre-kindergarten students.

Video released by the Hays Consolidated Independent School District shows other drivers getting out of their cars and racing toward the bus.

Ulises Rodriguez Montoya, a 5-year-old passenger on the bus, was killed, as was Ryan Wallace, 33, who was driving a 2024 Hyundai behind the bus when it crashed into the bus. According to the Austin American-Statesman, Mr. Wallace was a doctoral student at the University of Texas.

The fatal crash occurred around 2 p.m. near Texas State Route 21 and Caldwell Road in Bastrop County, a rural road outside Austin. fox austin report.

More than 40 pre-school students from Tom Green Elementary School were on board the school bus returning from a field trip to the zoo, many of whom were also injured.

This accident is still under investigation. Authorities did not say how fast the vehicle was traveling.

No charges have been filed against the cement truck driver.

Texas State Police on Monday interviewed the cement truck driver, who was hospitalized for treatment, and the driver admitted to smoking marijuana the night before the crash, KVUE reported, citing court documents. He is said to have said that.

The driver also reportedly told police that he had only slept for about three hours before ingesting the cocaine at 1 a.m. on the day of the accident. He also refused to provide a blood sample for analysis, according to court documents.
