Hollywood director Rob Reiner said online Thursday that superstar Taylor Swift would “do whatever it takes” to support President Joe Biden as the 2024 election approaches.
Reiner spoke about his upcoming film on Twitter. During the 2020 election, Swift endorsed the Biden-Harris campaign in her Instagram posts, which resulted in 35,000 new voters registering to vote. Biden’s re-election campaign reportedly began moving toward a second endorsement of Swift in January, amid close presidential election polls between Biden and former President Donald Trump. While many expect Swift to announce her support for Biden, the superstar has so far only encouraged fans to go vote. Swift took to Instagram on Super Tuesday to encourage his followers to get out and vote in their states, noting that he should vote for the person who represents them.
“I just wanted to remind you to vote for the people who best represent you and win power,” Swift said. “If you haven’t voted yet, please make plans to vote today.”
Mr. Reiner has been outspoken about politics and social issues in recent years, and has continued to criticize Mr. Trump and his supporters. In 2019, Reiner tweeted that people who support the former president are “racists.”
