On Saturday, climate protesters disrupted Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, the New York Post reported.
Protesters identified as members of climate change protest and Palestinian solidarity group Extinction Rebellion entered the church, the New York Post reported. report. Time Square was filled early Saturday morning with thousands of protesters calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. These protesters then entered the Easter Vigil and walked to the front of the church service, the newspaper reported.
Protesters against climate change held up banners that read “SILENCE = DEATH” and featured the Extinction Rebellion symbol and an olive tree.

Video showed protesters tearing down the banner, after which a large group of people quickly rushed in, tearing down the flag and pushing the disruptors away from the front of the church.
Protesters were quickly removed from the Easter Vigil. The New York Post reported that the faithful and general protesters, led by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, were upset by the demonstrators’ disruption.
Pro-Palestinian demonstrators disrupted President Joe Biden’s fundraiser in New York on Thursday. One of the protesters interrupted the presidential panel discussion and began yelling at the president.
“Shame on you Joe Biden! Shame on you! You are forcing genocide in Palestine and no amount of concern is enough -” protesters shouted.
One protester outside the event was apparently arrested by NYPD authorities.
