Police said a chaotic chain reaction occurred in which a 30-year-old driver from the Bronx struck a 66-year-old man, then dragged the woman they had been arguing with with him.
Police said the driver collided with a 30-year-old woman who was standing outside her car on East Tremont Street near Third Street around 2:20 a.m.
At some point during the crash, the driver tried to start, but when he backed up, he hit the senior, police said.
The man then drove off, dragging the woman in his car for a short distance, authorities said.
Police said the man crashed into two unoccupied parked cars and tried to flee on foot, but to no avail.
Police quickly arrested him and he was taken into custody pending charges.
Both the injured man and woman refused medical treatment, police said.
It’s unclear whether the man and woman knew each other or what exactly they were arguing about.
