Vince McMahon accuser wrote ‘love letter’ to ex-WWE CEO, claims she was coerced

A woman who claims she was sexually abused by Vince McMahon for years wrote a passionate love letter to the former WWE CEO, in which she declared that Vince McMahon was “in love with a capital L.” did. And she now claims that she was extorted by McMahon. , the post has learned.

Janelle Grant, who filed the shocking lawsuit the day before professional wrestling icon Janelle Grant abruptly resigned as executive chairman of WWE parent company TKO Group Holdings, wrote a letter to McMahon dated December 24, 2021. “This is my best friend, my friend,” he wrote in a long email. Love and everything about me. ”

In a letter to the 78-year-old on Christmas Eve, Grant, 43, wrote: “After nearly three years together, you have been there, you have been in it, and I have shared everything with you. Without it, I feel like my life isn’t even real to me.” One-year-old McMahon obtained by The Post.

The Post has exclusively obtained a love letter written to former WWE executive Vince McMahon by former WWE employee Janelle Grant, who claimed she was sexually abused and trafficked by him.

The lovestruck letter stands in contrast to the allegations in her bombshell lawsuit filed in January in federal court in Connecticut. The lawsuit alleges that McMahon defecated on Grant’s head during a threesome in May 2020, about 18 months before he allegedly wrote the love letter.

But Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, told the Post that McMahon actually instructed Grant to write the memo.

“Frankly, she introduced the letter that Vince himself forced her to write, weeks late, in an attempt to defend his horrific actions (acts that to this day he claims never occurred).” It’s pretty disgusting that I tried to do that,” Karis said.

“His mental torture of women continues. This is typical of abusive predators who intensify their threats when women speak out. Janelle is not new to his intimidation tactics, but… This is an all-time low for him.”

Asked about the coercion charge, Mr. McMahon’s lawyer, Jessica Taub Rosenberg of Kasowitz Benson Torres, told the Post, “This is historical revisionism. No one would write that letter to Mr. Grant. She was not forced to do so. She wrote it of her own free will. The fact that the letter indicates that it was the 24th draft speaks volumes.”

“Nowhere in her voluminous complaint, which is riddled with fabrications, does she mention that she was forced to commit such acts. The language of the letter is consistent with other communications she made to Mr. McMahon during the course of their consensual relationship. We are in agreement,” Rosenberg added.

Meanwhile, Mr Grant’s publicist said on December 21, three days before sending the letter, that Mr Grant had informed Mr McMahon that he had undergone surgery on his index finger and said: “I think he will tap out today.” He revealed that he had sent a text message.

In a text exchange that was not included in Grant’s lawsuit but was purportedly obtained by the Post and claimed to be authentic by a Grant spokesperson, McMahon responded: I’m sorry, baby,” he wrote, followed by two heart emojis.

“How should I write the letter?” Grant replied in a text thread. “You can type it up and read it…or you can try writing it in a few days,” Grant added. “I’m sorry for messing up, please write me a nice letter :(“

A spokesperson for Ms. Grant told the Post that she was “coerced” into writing the love letter, and shared text exchanges between Grant and McMahon in the days leading up to and on the day of the love letter.

A representative for Grant, speaking on condition of anonymity, also said that Grant had written many love letters at McMahon’s request and resorted to filling them with pre-existing content from pop culture. GQ interview The co-authored work by Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly was published two months before Grant’s letter.

For example, in an article for GQ, author Molly Lambert says of celebrity relationships: “The physical part is obviously out of line, but there are also sweet and funny parts.” – Grant’s expression is quoted almost verbatim in his writing. letter.

“Fox and MGK are in love with a capital L,” the story says, a phrase also coined by Grant.

In another passage, Grant writes: You can see my heart. You can see my soul. Very few people know the secret of creating heaven on earth. You are one of those rare people. ”

A spokeswoman for Mr. Grant said the sweet, sweet line was taken straight from the 1947 film “The Bishop’s Wife.”

Grant, a former WWE employee who worked at the Stamford, Conn., headquarters from June 2019 to March 2022, also alleges in the lawsuit that McMahon trafficked her to other WWE executives and wrestlers and “sexually assaulted her.” “He caused physical injury due to coercion.” Toy” is named after a male WWE star.

Mr. McMahon, who is under federal investigation by New York prosecutors on charges of sexual assault and sex trafficking, denies Mr. Grant’s accusations and says their relationship was consensual. he claimed.

“MS. Mr. Grant’s allegations are false, defamatory and completely baseless,” Mr. McMahon’s attorney Taub also told the Post on Thursday. “We intend to vigorously defend Mr. McMahon and are confident that he will be exonerated.”

Grant’s rambling 2,200-word email was taken from his laptop as part of an investigation on behalf of the WWE Board of Directors by the White Shoe law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and officials said the incident It is said that the documents will be made public as documents submitted to the court as the matter progresses. At the time, McMahon was also under investigation for his approximately $3 million in hush money payments and NDAs with former staffers. WWE’s eight independent directors commissioned an investigation by the law firm Simpson Thatcher & Bartlett, which uncovered Grant’s impassioned letter to McMahon, which was obtained by The Post.

“Whether it’s an assistant, a chef, Brad, Nick, Johnny or anyone who sees us together, it’s important to them and anyone who sees us that we are I don’t think I can deny that I’m in love with L.”

In addition to Mr. Laurinaitis, sources said Mr. Grant and Mr. McMahon were reportedly seen “acting very gently together” and that Mr. Grant was with WWE president Nick Khan. He said he appeared to be referring to Chief Operating Officer Brad Blum, identified in court documents as Executive Officers No. 1 and No. 2.

Laurinaitis’ attorney, Edward Brennan, declined to comment on the letter, but said the 61-year-old former professional wrestler, known in the ring as Johnny Ace, “denies all allegations made against him in the complaint. It claims as follows.” He is the victim of this problem, not the protagonist. ”

In a December 2021 letter, Grant said the two “are not able to spend as much time together as they would have liked.” Grant went on to elaborate on his “true love” with McMahon, writing, “I am my best and most authentic self in front of you.”
