Three children were injured in a shooting at a Finnish elementary school early Tuesday morning, and the suspect, a minor, was later arrested, Finnish police said.
A police spokesperson told Reuters the victims were taken to hospital.
According to local authorities, the shooting took place at Viertra School in Vantaa, a suburb of the capital Helsinki. The school has approximately 800 students from grades 1 to 9 and approximately 90 faculty members.
Viertola school principal Sari Lasila told Reuters that “the immediate danger has passed” and declined to comment further on the incident.
