Kelly Ripa introduced viewers to ‘one of the first things’ Mark Consuelos told her live with kelly and mark this morning.
Everything was resolved after Ripa shared a new approach being taken in Japan for young people who have traditionally found it “very difficult” to date. Interestingly, it involved their parents.
“They’re doing some kind of thing.” speed dating for parents “The percentage of young people who meet and communicate with each other is determining whether their children are suitable for dating each other,” she explained.
Consuelos found the practice “fascinating,” but wondered, “How successful is it?”
Ripa replied, “It’s not written in the article, but I like it.”
Consuelos asked Ripa, “Imagine this.” [they] that’s why i did it [their] “Kids,” Ripa insisted, “they would reject anyone right away.” [they] I tried to set it up with. ”
“But maybe it means something,” she added. “If my parents met you or found out about you in any way, they would want me to date you. As if they were going to try to get me to be with you. .”
Consuelos felt the same way, but Ripa suggested, “Perhaps the parents are very observant.” But Consuelos eventually asked, “But what if your mom says, ‘I met Mark, a nice young gentleman who eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?'” Would you be interested if Esther Ripa told you to do it? ”
Ripa teased, “I don’t know, but my mom is going to be really mad that you called her Esther on TV.”
Consuelos quickly apologized, a look of panic on his face, and corrected her by calling her Essie. He then tried to express the situation in reverse.
“If Camila Consuelos says to me, ‘I met this gorgeous young woman,’ you have to meet her. She’s an interesting person,” he suggested. “She says, ‘When I look at her, she reminds me of myself,’ which I think was really weird at the time. She’s like, ‘I don’t know if I’ll ever see her.’ She doesn’t know what she would do. ”
After finally concluding that if that were the case, “I wouldn’t be here,” Ripa revealed “one of the first things” her husband and co-host allegedly said to her.
“When I met you, one of the first things you said was that it reminded me of your mother. I’m not going to lie, I was like…” she said. he recalled with feigned disgust. “And I never met his mother. It’s not really like pillow talk. You know what I’m saying, right? “Maybe he friend-zoned me. I thought, “Maybe he’s putting it in there.” ”
Consuelos chimed in to set the record straight and protect his reputation, urging Ripa to “wait a minute.”
“You’re talking to a trained assassin here,” he boasted. “Okay? I would never say something like that when I first met you.”
Ripa clarified that she “didn’t say it was our first date,” but Consuelos countered that “maybe it was later” that she had “already fallen in love with” Ripa.
“I know how to fish,” he joked, miming reeling in a lipa.
Lipa chided, “Do you even believe half the words that come out of your mouth?”
Consuelos joked, “I believe 100% of the 20% that comes out of my mouth.”
