The insane boyfriend of a Queens bar employee has been charged with murder after allegedly killing her with a knife while at work and then stabbing himself, police and sources said.
Marcin Piesiak, 36, also still has the bloody knife he used to stab Sarah McNally, 41, in the neck at the Kayli House pub in Grand Avenue, Maspeth, on Friday night. Authorities found him there and charged him with weapons possession. .
Pieciak remains in the hospital suffering from his own stab wounds, which witnesses told the Post were inflicted by Pieciak after attacking McNally.
It remains unclear what prompted the violent attack.
After the attack, both men were rushed to hospital, but McNally succumbed to his injuries before arriving. Pieciak was initially listed in critical condition.
The murder of Ms McNally, from Langford, Ireland, has left communities on both sides of the Atlantic in a “state of shock” since Friday’s attack.
Mr McNally’s aunt Mary posted on Facebook on Easter Sunday: “Rest in peace my beautiful niece Sarah, our hearts are broken and we love you always.”
“It’s very cruel. People are struggling to say the right words at the moment and there’s very little that can be said to make things better for Sarah’s parents,” Langford councilor Martin Monaghan said. He told Irish broadcaster RTÉ News.
Another Langford politician, Fianna Fail Jo Flaherty, called McNally a “brilliant, lively, resourceful and charismatic young woman”.
Sources told The Post that the couple had been living together for several months and that Pieciak burst into the pub at around 6:30 p.m. and attacked McNally.
By the time police arrived, McNally was lying on the floor bleeding and Pieciak was holding a knife and bleeding from wounds to his neck and back.
Officials said officers used a stun gun on Pieczak after he refused to drop the weapon.
“We are shocked by the news that Sarah is no longer with us. She was a fixture at the bar and in Maspeth. We used to see her all the time,” Queens resident Peter Cappelli told CBS News. Told.
“I send my condolences and love to her family and all those who will miss her. She was the best,” he added.
