Biden wins New York Democratic primary

According to Decision Desk Headquarters, President Biden was expected to win the Democratic primary in New York state.

Biden cleared the delegate threshold needed to win his party’s nomination last month, but a win in New York state could significantly increase that number, and Decision Desk trackers say he won’t have much time in the Empire State. There are also 268 delegates listed. Headquarters/The Hill.

New York state has been voting for Democratic presidential candidates since the late 1980s, and Biden easily defeated former President Trump in New York in 2020. With Trump also winning the presidential election, the two will likely face off again in the fall. That’s the mark he needs on Republican support.

Mr. Biden faced nominal competition Tuesday from front-runner Marianne Williamson and Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota, who has since resigned. Trump appeared with several former rivals, including former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
