Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is currently the producer of the new musical “Suffus,” and used Wednesday’s performance as an opportunity to torment President Biden.
On Wednesday, she and “Hamilton” genius Lin-Manuel Miranda hosted a fundraiser for Biden at a preview of a play about suffragists.
“She was mingling with all the patrons,” the spy said. “She was very approachable.”
Her husband, Bill Clinton, was also in attendance at the show, and it was reported that “the venue erupted into an uproar” when he saw her. “They were so excited when Bill arrived,” her source said.
Politics aside, we hear that Hillary “loves” her role as a producer and is “very active” behind the scenes.
“She’s been involved in this process every step of the way. She was in the first rehearsal. She talks to the cast. She loves the process. She lights up when she walks in the room. ” a source told us.
Our source said Hillary was “eye-watering” when she attended the rally. sitz probe (first rehearsal for cast and orchestra to play together) a few weeks ago. “It was very emotional for her to see the show actually come to life for the first time,” the source said.
Singer-songwriter Shaina Taub wrote the music and stars as activist Alice Paul in the musical, which tells the story of women in the suffrage movement fighting for the right to vote following the passage of the 19th Amendment. .
Miranda introduced Taub to the audience as “the future of musical theater.”
Clearly, Hillary feels the same way. She had seen a performance off-Broadway at the Public Theater, and Taub had the audacity to ask if she was interested in becoming a producer. Hilary reportedly “she jumped on it right away.”
The program also received support from the former president. Backstage at Wednesday’s screening, Bill was overheard praising cast member Grace MacLean.
“He jokingly told her he loved her.” [performance as] President Woodrow Wilson was better than the actual President Wilson! ” our source said.
“Suffs” is currently in previews and will officially open at the Music Box Theater on April 18th.
