Migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border say they’re ‘hoping’ [President Joe] While some are aiming for a Biden victory in the 2024 presidential election, they hope to be released into the interior by Election Day, knowing that former President Donald Trump’s chances for a second term will all but disappear. Some people are.

in interview This year, he and Peter Savodnik of the Free Press argue that migrants waiting to cross the southern border are likely to be released into the U.S. interior largely under the current administration. He said he much prefers Biden over Trump in the election.

But with the rise of President Trump, they see those opportunities disappearing.

“I want Biden to win,” Daniel Cortes, 45, from Honduras, currently living in a migrant camp in northern Mexico, told Savodnik.

Richard Betancourt, 46, a Venezuelan national who also lives in the migrant camp, said, “If Mr. Trump were to work, no matter how hard I worked, no matter how much I wanted to work, he wouldn’t let me in.”

Mr. Falcon told Mr. Savodnik that he was not particularly concerned about what his life would be like once he crossed the border. Instead, she’s concerned with who wins on her November 5th. Mainly, she wants to get into the United States by that date to secure her chance to stay.

“if [Biden] You can’t win, you can’t imagine what’s going to happen,” Falcon said.
