WATCH: Courtroom chaos as son bursts in, shoots dad’s killer

A man attending his father’s murder trial in Brazil interrupted the courtroom and assaulted the suspect by firing six shots at him.

Footage of the attack was captured on CCTV from the courtroom in São Jose de Belmonte. The video shows Cristiano Alves Telto, 27, firing at Francisco Creidivaldo Mariano de Moura, 38, as the judge and jury scatter for cover. It’s reflected.

It remains unclear how Telt entered the courtroom with a .38 caliber revolver. The attack occurred on November 29, 2023, but police did not release the video until April 1, 2024.

Telt chased Moura across the courtroom and continued to assault the defendant, including punching him in the head. Police at the scene removed the man from the room and eventually arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder.

Moura survived the attack but had to go to a local hospital and then be transferred to a larger facility for treatment. He has since been released from the hospital, according to Jam Press.

Moura murdered Francisco Alves on October 5, 2012. In his confession, he claimed that Moura was looking for a stray donkey from his property when he found Alves.

He claimed that Alves treated him with hostility, calling him a “dirty little thief” and demanded that he leave.

Alves then grabbed a wooden stick and tried to approach him, at which point Moura claimed he fired a gun into the air as a warning. When Alves did not stop, he took more shots to the ground and eventually felt the need to defend himself.

Alves suffered a single gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to the hospital. After 18 days of treatment and monitoring, Alves passed away.

Moura fled to the northern Brazilian city of Salgiero, where he remained on the run for more than a decade before police found him and arrested him. No retrial date has been set since Telt was released from the hospital, but Telt has remained in jail since the day after the attack.

“The jury has not been reconvened and a new date has not yet been assigned,” the Pernambuco state court told Britain’s Metro.
