Singer CJ Snare, frontman and founding member of the hard rock band Firehouse, passed away “suddenly” on Friday at the age of 64.

“CJ Snare passed away suddenly at his home on Friday night, April 5, 2024. He was 64 years old,” the fire department continued. “As you all know, CJ was scheduled to return to the stage with his band this summer after recovering from surgery.”

The band further explained that Snare was Firehouse’s frontman for over 30 years.

“We are all in complete shock at CJ’s untimely passing. CJ was, without a doubt, one of the greatest vocal talents of this generation, and for the past 34 years he has performed non-stop around the world with Firehouse. ,” the rock band said.

“My deepest condolences go out to the entire Snare family, Catherine Little, his friends, and all his beloved fans around the world.

The band has not disclosed the cause of death, but Snare’s daughter Heather said: Said According to TMZ, her father passed away after a long battle with cancer, with the official cause of death being cardiac arrest.

Snare’s partner of eight years, Catherine Little, said in a social media post that Snare was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in September 2020.

“His initial prognosis was grim, but that didn’t stop him,” Little said, adding that Snare underwent “lifesaving surgery” in 2021 and that “it will be the last time we spend time with him.” It gave me years,” he added.

“He has been incredibly positive throughout this illness,” she said. “He was so strong. He never lost hope. All he wanted was to be the CJ you know and love.”

Little said that last spring, Snare “began having more problems and underwent another surgery in October 2023,” which left her “very weak and unable to live a full life.” he added.

Firehouse was founded in 1984 by Snare, Richardson, guitarist Bill Revati, and drummer Michael Foster. The band signed with Epic Records in 1989 and released their self-titled debut album in 1990. The album went double platinum in the US and sold over 2 million copies.

The band’s successful singles include “Don’t Treat Me Bad” and “When I Look Into Your Eyes,” with their most successful hit being “Love of a Lifetime.” It reached number 3 on Billboard’s top 20 hits. and sold over 500,000 copies.
