Police body camera footage captured the moment chaos erupted this week at a hotel immigrant shelter north of New York City when officers encountered resistance as they tried to arrest them.
The video released by the Yonkers Police Department begins with a caller telling a dispatcher at the Ramada Inn in Yonkers that “there’s a man here and he’s unruly” and “he’s very violent towards everyone.” .
“He’s throwing things at everyone. Please send someone here right away,” the caller demanded.
The video then shows officers struggling to take the man, who police have identified as Arnal Kent, 35, into custody.

At one point in the video, a woman, identified as Yainilet Hernandez, can be seen trying to prevent the officer from opening the cruiser door as the officer attempts to put Kent into the cruiser.
“Get out of the way!” a voice can be heard saying repeatedly over the screams of the crowd gathered to witness the arrest.
“After failing to comply with several attempts to move, officers had to push Mr. Hernandez away in order to open the door and safely restrain Mr. Kent in the back of the vehicle,” police said in a statement. ” he said. “Hernandez also tried to pull the officers away from Kent in the process.”
Body camera footage then showed Hernandez being taken to the ground by police and then taken into custody himself.
“As officers attempted to handcuff Ms. Hernandez, she quickly moved away from several officers and attempted to strike multiple officers with her hands,” Yonkers police said in a statement. “One officer suffered injuries to his right knee and wrist during the struggle and was subsequently taken off duty.”

Hernandez was charged with assault, obstruction of public administration and resisting arrest and is out on bail.
