Elon Musk, Javier Milei pledge to promote free market after Texas meeting

Billionaire Elon Musk and Argentina’s liberal president spoke on Friday about free markets and potential lithium projects after the like-minded two met in Texas, home to the Tesla electric car company. He promised to cooperate with the promotion.

The pair visited Tesla’s Austin headquarters and discussed topics ranging from the need to accelerate global birthrate decline to pursuing technological development while protecting “freedoms,” President Javier Millay’s chief spokesperson said. They said they had talked.

Mr. Musk, one of the world’s richest people, has previously praised Mr. Milley’s embrace of private enterprise and shown he despises what he sees as the excesses of socialism.

“We discussed investment opportunities in lithium in Argentina… We are committed not only to exporting raw materials, but also to adding value,” Weltein said in comments published in La Nación newspaper. .

“(Musk) said he wants to help Argentina,” Weltein added.
