The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that Iran launched dozens of drones toward Israel from its territory on Saturday afternoon.
“A short while ago, Iran launched an unmanned aerial vehicle from its own territory into the territory of the State of Israel,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
“Air defense arrays are also on high alert, as are air force aircraft and naval vessels tasked with protecting the nation’s skies,” he added. “The IDF is monitoring all targets.”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement confirming the launch of the attack on Israel, saying it was a response to an earlier attack by the Israel Defense Forces on a consular facility in the Syrian capital Damascus. The April 1 airstrike killed several senior Iranian officials, including Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, as well as several other members of the Revolutionary Guards.
