On April 12, the “Grease” actor paid tribute to his son on social media.
“Happy birthday my Jetty. Not a day goes by that you aren’t with me!” Travolta wrote alongside a photo of the father-son duo with his late wife Kelly Preston.

In 2009, Travolta and Preston’s 16-year-old son died in the Bahamas during a family vacation. Jett, who was autistic and prone to seizures, suffered a seizure in the bathtub and died from head injuries.
In addition to Jett, Travolta and Preston also raised daughter Ella, now 24, and son Ben, now 13.
Ella commented on her father’s post: “Happy birthday, Jetty.”
Rita Wilson said: “I’ll never forget him. Or Kelly.”

In 2014, Travolta spoke about his son’s death in an interview at the Royal Drury Lane Theater in London, describing Jett’s death as “the worst thing that ever happened to me.”
He added that he didn’t know if he would “make it” and credited the Church of Scientology with helping him and his family get through this loss.
“I am forever grateful to Scientology for supporting me for two years, Monday through Sunday,” he said at the time. “They worked tirelessly to teach me different techniques for dealing with grief and loss, and made me feel like I was finally able to get through the day.”
