With the 2024 Olympics in Paris coming up this summer, USA Basketball is assembling the best possible men’s roster to avoid embarrassment on the world’s biggest stage.
LeBron James will return to Team USA for his fourth Olympics. Stephen Curry joins the team for his Olympic debut.Nine other players have reportedly been confirmed for a 12-man roster made up of the league’s biggest American stars. The U.S. men’s national basketball team has won four consecutive Olympic gold medals and seven of the past eight. Since the transition to using NBA players, Americans have only missed out on gold once, and that was in 2004 when Team USA won bronze. Despite their track record of success, as the rest of the world continues to improve, USA Basketball is clearly feeling the heat, and that’s informed their decisions with this roster.
USA Basketball finished a humiliating 4th place at the 2023 FIBA World Cup despite having the most talented, if not exactly the best group. USA Basketball also placed him seventh in the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

F LeBron James: James, 39, is returning for his fourth Olympics after missing the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. James is one of the greatest players in basketball history and still competes at an incredibly high level. This season, James set a career-high in 3-point percentage in his 21st season.
F Kevin Durant: Durant will be aiming for his fourth Olympic gold medal after being the driving force behind the Americans’ gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. The 6’11 sharpshooter remains one of the world’s best scorers to this day.
F. Jayson Tatum: Tatum is one of USA Basketball’s new faces.of boston celtics The star athlete has been part of the program on the junior team since he was a teenager. He brings isolation scoring, spot-up shooting, and defensive length to the mix.
G Stephen Curry: The greatest shooter of all time and one of the greatest offensive players of all time finally shines on the Olympic stage. It will be a lot of fun to watch Curry’s incredible long-range shots from his international competitors. At 36 years old, he remains one of the best guards alive.
