Guards were conducting a door-to-door sweep Wednesday at a North Dakota Air National Guard base after reports of gunshots triggered a lockdown.

Grand Forks Air Force Base said in a social media post that base security received a report of a single gunshot near the clinic and base exchange around 1 p.m. He was ordered to be placed on “a state of caution.” Said.

By mid-afternoon, there were no reports of injuries and cleaning of the facility was still continuing.
Grand Forks County Chief Deputy Sheriff Dave Stromberg said authorities are not aware of any active threats to the Air Force base and base officials have not requested assistance.
No one answered calls to the base’s public information number, and an email sent to the public relations office did not immediately respond.

The 319th Reconnaissance Wing has 2,200 personnel, according to the base’s website. The base hosts air and space operations.
