Nate Diaz sued for allegedly choking out TikTok star

UFC legend Nate Diaz is facing a lawsuit stemming from a 2023 incident in New Orleans in which he is accused of strangling a social media influencer, leaving him unconscious and severely injured.

After the boxing event, a brawl ensued on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, where the incident occurred. The video showed Diaz standing in front of another man before the two got engaged. Diaz then rendered the man unconscious with a standing guillotine choke.

The person in question was reportedly Rodney Petersen, a YouTuber and TikTok creator known for his resemblance to boxer Logan Paul.

Diaz explained his side of the story in “.Submit entire podcast. ”

“I came out of this bar and the whole street was fighting and I didn’t even know who was fighting… and this fake Logan Paul was like, ‘Hey, hey, hey, get back to it!’ and I grabbed his hand because this idiot was going to hit me,” Diaz recalled.

The fighter added that others watching the ordeal “strangled their butts” out of fear of appearing ready to fight him.

“I was defending myself,” he added.

Diaz was initially charged with second-degree assault, but the case was later dismissed by the district attorney. TMZ report.

Petersen, an amateur fighter, has reportedly filed a lawsuit in Louisiana, seeking damages for injuries he allegedly sustained during the altercation.

The complaint alleges that Diaz attacked him for no reason, strangled him until he lost consciousness, and caused his injuries by slamming his head into concrete. The details of his injuries have reportedly not been disclosed.

When asked about the incident, Diaz’s attorney, Zach Rosenfield, simply said, “LOL,” but declined to comment further.

Petersen initially responded to the incident with a video showing what appeared to be a head laceration.

“So I don’t know what the hell I did to Nate Diaz,” Petersen said, blood pouring down his neck and head. You caught me off guard when I found out he was coming, Logan. [Paul]? ”

In Petersen’s combat qualifications, he amateur martial artistnicknamed “Not Logan Paul.”

He lost five amateur bouts in 2014-2015, four of which were by KO/TKO. He hasn’t fought since September 2015.
