Caitlin Clark’s WNBA salary has received widespread attention, along with President Joe Biden’s salary.
“Women in sports continue to push new boundaries and inspire us all. But now we are facing a crisis in which women, even the best, are not getting the compensation they deserve. It’s time to give our daughters the same opportunities as our sons and make sure women are paid the compensation they deserve,” Biden tweeted at X.
Biden’s tweet comes after Clark was selected No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The star made just $76,535 in his rookie season and is scheduled to make only $338,056 over the next four seasons.
The pay gap between the WNBA and NBA is clear, but unlike Joe Biden, Sara Gonzalez knows why the “pay gap” exists.
“There’s no way anyone’s not watching this crazy WNBA thing,” Gonzalez scoffs. “The president said that, so it’s definitely sexist.”
