Mr. Avenatti told the Post by phone from prison that he was in talks with Mr. Trump’s legal team and was prepared to testify if asked.
“The defense contacted me,” he said. “I’d be happy to testify. I don’t know if I’ll be called to testify, but I’ve been in contact with Mr. Trump’s defense for most of this year.”
