Disturbing video shows the moments before police say a drunk driver drove off at Michigan’s Swan Boat Club on Saturday, killing two children and injuring more than a dozen others.
The car accident happened around 3pm on Saturday in Berlin’s Charter district. Surveillance camera video showed the parking lot near the boat club before the tragedy occurred.
The driver was seen speeding towards the building, kicking up dust under the car’s tires and slamming into the boat club. Police said the car crashed about 8 meters into the building.
The impact of the car hitting the building happens just off camera. After the accident, people could be seen running into the parking lot.

Authorities said a young child’s birthday party was being held at the time of the incident. Two brothers, a 5-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, were pronounced dead at the scene.
At least 15 people were injured, nine with life-threatening injuries. Six adults and three children were rushed to local hospitals.
The suspect, a 66-year-old woman, was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail. Her identity has not been released by authorities.

At a press conference Saturday night, monroe county Sheriff Troy Goodnow fought back tears as he described the horrific scene.
“First responders said earlier that the scene was very chaotic and emotions were running high among those directly involved and those who witnessed this horrific incident,” he recalled.
