As Katy Perry’s exit from ‘American Idol’ draws closer and closer, her fellow judges share what they’ll miss most about the ‘Roar’ singer and who should take her place as a judge. I’m considering what I’m thinking.
Speaking to Fox News Digital at the “American Idol” Top 10 Tastemakers event in Los Angeles on Monday, Lionel Richie said there’s something special about the dynamic between Perry and fellow judge Luke Bryan. I looked back on the moment I realized it was true.
“Katie is amazing,” Richie said. “In the first season, she instantly turned me into a mom, dad, and grandma and was like, ‘What are you doing? You shouldn’t do that in public.'” It’s all about adults. It came out from. Then Luke came over and started saying something. But then I got to a point where it calmed down. Papa Bear and I have children. ”

“Taylor Swift, if you’re listening outside, this is a great place to stay,” he said. “Luke and I would love to have you join us.”

We tried to have fun and rebrand the show into something that a lot of people want to come and see.”

As the season finale of Idol approaches, the question of who will replace Perry frequently comes up.
During an interview with Eh!news Perry said last week that he enjoyed having country music sensation Jelly Roll appear on the show and would love to see him sit alongside Richie and Brian.

“I have to say, it was crazy when Jelly Roll came on the show,” she told the show. “I agreed with everything he said. He might run for president. He might be my pastor. I might go back to church for him. He could sell me anything.”
“It would be great to have Jerry on the show with one of these guys. I love you, Jerry!” she said.
