Horrifying footage shows a mysterious liquid spilling from the toilet and flowing down the aisle of the plane on a Spirit Airlines flight bound for Newark.
Passengers aboard a Spirit Airlines flight from Atlanta to Newark on Monday were stunned to see a mysterious liquid dripping down the aisle, eventually turning into a steady stream that soaked the carpet. .
Repulsed tourists can be seen looking on in horror. Video shared by StoryfulOthers can be heard making jokes in an attempt to make light of the unfortunate situation, and one woman can be heard joking in the background, “I love Spirit.”
Some passengers pulled out their cellphones to capture their own images of the wet mess that began as the plane began to touch down in Newark.
A person behind the camera could be heard commenting, “Put your feet up,” as water poured into the aisle and other passengers groaned in disgust.
“As the plane landed, passengers scrambled to get their belongings and feet up as a river cascaded down the middle,” the videographer told Storyful.
The liquid appears to have come from the rear toilet.
An airline spokesperson said the spill was “clean drinking water” and was caused by “an issue with the drinking water line connected to the rear toilet sink.”
“Maintenance resolved the issue and the aircraft was able to continue on its next scheduled flight,” the spokesperson added.
