Oracle founder Larry Ellison on Tuesday announced plans to move the software giant’s headquarters to Nashville, Tennessee, adding that it is the center of the health care industry.
Ellison spoke on stage with former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist in Nashville, and the conversation was shared by Oracle Health on the social media platform LinkedIn on Tuesday.
The founder and executive chairman told Frist that his company is moving a “huge campus” to Nashville, which “will ultimately become our global headquarters.”
“I shouldn’t have said that,” Ellison said quickly, but having disclosed information about the company’s future, there was no going back.

Ellison said Oracle’s move to Nashville positions the company as one of the leading companies in the healthcare industry, noting the industry in which Oracle is expanding its presence.
Back in 2022, Oracle acquired Cerner for $28 billion. The Kansas City, Missouri-based company provides software for managing electronic medical records.
Ellison said Nashville is a “great place to live,” as he detailed the company’s relocation plans.

“It’s a great place to raise a family. It has a unique, vibrant culture. And when we looked at our employees, a lot of them, Nashville checked all the boxes,” Ellison said. he said.
He also said Nashville is “the epicenter of the industry we’re most concerned about, which is health care.”
Norman Foster, who designed Apple Park in Cupertino, California, is designing a new Oracle campus “on the river” in Nashville.

The CEO said the new campus will not look like a corporate campus, but instead will be a park with buildings.
Ellison said the news site will include an office building, a community clinic, a restaurant, a hotel and a concert venue (a floating stage on a lake where concerts will be held for the community).
“We want to be part of the community,” he said. “Our people love it here, and we think this is the epicenter of our future.”

Oracle did not immediately respond to inquiries from Fox News Digital about the announcement.
Oracle’s headquarters are currently located in Austin, Texas. They left Redwood Shores, California and moved there in 2020.
