Emma Stone is done.
When the Oscar winner became an actress for the first time and had to choose an official name for SAG-AFTRA (Actors Guild), there was no Emily Stone, so she chose the name Emma, which she loved from childhood.
“That’s because my name was stolen. [by another actress in SAG]” she said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Wednesday.
But after a few years, she revealed that she started missing that identity.

“A few years ago, I freaked out. For some reason, I was like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. Just call me Emily,'” she said. ”[‘The Curse’ co-star] nathan [Fielder] Please call me Em. It’s easier. ”

The topic came up after Fielder told the paper in a joint interview: “Before we continue, I just want to say something. Her name is Emily, but professionally she’s called Emma. So when someone doesn’t know her, I say, “I’ll call her Emma, but from now on, I’ll call her Emily.” ”
“You can call me Emma. You can say anything,” Stone told a reporter, adding that she wouldn’t correct her if a fan approached her and called her Emily.

“No, that’s very nice. I want to be Emily,” she said.
She also joked that she calls Fielding “Big Nate. That’s his favorite name.”
Fielder laughed, ”People close to me call me that. what were we saying? ”

In 2018, Stone revealed to Jimmy Fallon that he prefers to be called Emma because he loves the Spice Girls’ Baby Spice, aka Emma Bunton.
“My real name is Emily, but because of Baby Spice I wanted to be called Emma. So what happened? That’s what I do now.”

Stone won her second Academy Award last month for her role as Vera Baxter in “Poor Things.” Her first win was for “La La Land” in 2016.
