Former President Donald Trump on Monday celebrated a “great meeting” with Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over the weekend, saying the governor expressed “full and enthusiastic support” for his bid for the White House. Stated.
“I am very pleased to have the full and enthusiastic support of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis,” the 77-year-old president wrote on Truth Social.
“We had a great meeting yesterday,” the presumptive Republican presidential nominee added.
Trump said Sunday’s meeting was set up by their mutual friend, Florida real estate investor and developer Steve Witkoff, at the ultra-luxury golf course and yacht club in Hallandale Beach, Florida. It was held at the Shell Bay Club.
Witkoff, a major Republican donor, has donated more than $300,000 to Make America Great Again Inc., a super PAC supporting President Trump, according to Federal Election Commission records.
“The main conversation was about how we can work closely together to make America great again,” President Trump said. “They also talked about Florida’s future. That’s great!”
“I am extremely grateful for Ron’s help in taking our country back from the worst president in American history,” he added. “November 5th is an important day!!!”
Sunday’s meeting between the two The Washington Post first reported.
The paper said Trump and DeSantis had not spoken since the end of the primary season and that the meeting lasted several hours.

DeSantis, 44, withdrew from the 2024 presidential race shortly after finishing second in the Iowa caucuses.
On the same day, he announced his support for Trump.
President Trump announced earlier this year that DeSantis was on his “short list” of presumptive 2024 Republican candidates.
However, the Florida governor has indicated he is not interested in potentially becoming President Trump’s vice president.
“People were talking about me. [as a potential vice president]. I didn’t do that,” DeSantis told Republican supporters in a thank-you call in February after suspending his campaign.
