Texas joins the ranks of the red states rejecting Biden’s woke Title IX rules

The Lone Star State joins the ranks of Republican states that have rejected the Biden administration’s woke Title IX rewrite. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) vowed Monday that the state will not participate in regulations that force radical gender ideologies into schools at the expense of girls.

“Title IX was written by Congress to support the academic and athletic advancement of women,” Abbott said.
I got it. In a letter to President Joe Biden. “This law is based on the fundamental premise that there are only two genders: male and female. You are rewriting Title IX to force schools to treat boys like girls and require all students to self-report forced them to accept their gender identity.”

Blaze News previously reported that under the new rules, sex discrimination would be expanded to include sexual preference and “gender identity”. Sexual harassment also includes “harassment” based on these.

The rules also prohibit schools from segregating or treating people differently based on gender. The Biden Department of Education has made clear that “preventing someone from participating in school (including single-sex activities) based on their gender identity causes more than minimal harm to that person.”

As a result, federally funded agencies and programs must allow cross-dressing men to enter women’s locker rooms and restrooms. If you do not comply with the requirements, you may face legal action.

Abbott called the new rules “a despicable effort to impose leftist beliefs on Title IX,” adding that such actions are beyond Biden’s authority as president.

“I am directing the Texas Education Agency to ignore your unlawful orders,” the governor continued. “Your rewriting of Title IX not only exceeds its constitutional authority, it also tramples on the law I signed to protect the integrity of women’s sports by prohibiting men from competing with female athletes. ”

“Texas will fight to uphold these laws and deny abuses of power,” Abbott added.

Texas isn’t the only state fighting back.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis last week told his administration to pound the sand, stressing that the Sunshine State “will not respond.”

“We are not going to allow Joe Biden to try to include men in women’s activities. We are not going to allow Joe Biden to violate parental rights. And we are not going to allow Joe Biden to try to include men in women’s activities. We’re not going to allow Biden to abuse his constitutional authority to try to impose these policies.’Here in Florida, we have a responsibility,” DeSantis added.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said the Sunshine State intends to challenge “this betrayal of women in court.”

Louisiana took steps this week to sue the Biden administration over the rule.

Liz Murrill, the state’s Republican attorney general
Said “This is all for political purposes and ignores serious safety concerns for young female students attending kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school, college and university in Louisiana and across the country,” the statement said. .

“These schools now need to change the way they behave, the way they speak, and whether they can create private spaces for girls and women,” Murrill continued. “This is highly invasive, much more than a mere suggestion, and an order that goes far beyond statutory authority.”

Mississippi, Montana and Idaho also joined Louisiana in the case. Louisiana v. U.S. Department of Education.

The complaint says the Biden administration’s final rule is a “dagger to the heart of Title IX’s mandate” and will have “shocking and serious” consequences.

Louisiana has made clear that this lawsuit will help save Title IX and protect the myriad interests threatened by DOE regulations.

Wyoming, Oklahoma, and South Carolina similarly do not participate in this apparent effort to impose radical ideology on the country.

Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder was one of the first to take a stand.
Focus on it April 22: “I am outraged by the Biden administration’s actions to effectively eliminate Title IX Title IX protections for women in the United States. Congressional action that not only continues to attack the rights of Americans, but attacks them without giving them any rights at all. ”

The next day, South Carolina Superintendent Ellen Weaver said:
Said “This rule violates the express text and undisputed original understanding of the statute it is intended to enforce. Worse, it overturns the statute and nullifies 50 years of progress and history. “This will lead to a change in the rules,” he said, calling on all school districts to ignore the new rules. By putting girls and women at a disadvantage in education, we ensure equal opportunity. ”

“Even a surface-level analysis of the 1,500-page regulation reveals violations of the U.S. Constitution, long-standing civil rights protections, and the federal Administrative Procedure Act,” Weaver added. “Because of these violations and the potential for other violations, we fully expect this rule to be subject to litigation for some time.”

State Superintendent Ryan Walters similarly directed all districts in Oklahoma to ignore the regulations, calling the changes “illegal and unconstitutional.”

shown States’ resistance has greatly angered LGBT activists.

“These MAGA politicians threaten to place schools in extremely precarious positions, encourage them to violate federal civil rights laws, expose them to potentially costly lawsuits, and jeopardize federal funding.” “We’re exposing them,” said Brandon Wolfe, a reporter for The Human. rights campaign. “Their theatrics can be incredibly damaging to students.”
