The show’s removal comes from an April 23 letter from Biden’s lawyers to Fox that read, “We will not remove ‘Hunter’ from any streaming platform, including Fox Nation,” according to a copy of the letter obtained by the Daily Caller program. This comes in response to demands that the “Biden Trial” be immediately removed.
The letter also accuses Fox of “illegal commercial exploitation of Mr. Biden’s image, name, and likeness.”
The six-part series will feature Hunter Biden’s “mock trial” presided over by Judge Joe Brown, the letter said. Brown is tv personality. Screenshots from the show show Brown and a mock juror reacting to multiple explicit images of Hunter Biden.
“‘The Hunter Biden Trial’ contains ‘pervasive distortions, inaccuracies, fabricated conversations, and out-of-context retellings of events,'” the letter claims. (Related: CNN promotes reporter who wrote article characterizing Hunter’s laptop as ‘Russian disinfo’)
“Therefore, FOX’s knowing production and broadcast of ‘The Trial of Hunter Biden’ is a blatant violation of Mr. Biden’s rights, and Mr. Biden is entitled to damages and injunctive relief,” the letter said. claims.
The letter also claims to serve as a formal Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice. “Mr. Biden is the exclusive rights holder to the copyrighted material identified above, including but not limited to the intimate images above published without permission on Fox Nation’s The Trial of Hunter Biden.” ” the letter claims.
Biden’s lawyers argued that Fox’s use of the explicit images violated “‘revenge porn’ laws.”
“In addition to the illegal commercial exploitation of Mr. Biden’s image, name, and likeness, the ‘Hunter Biden Trial’ also illegally published and continues to publish intimate images of Mr. Biden depicting nudity and sex. “This violates most state laws that prohibit the nonconsensual publication of sexually explicit images and videos, also known as revenge porn laws,” the letter alleges.
Fox News responded to The Daily Caller’s request for comment. “This program was created in 2022 and has been available since 2022. We are considering the concerns that have just been raised and have withdrawn this program out of an abundance of caution for the time being.”
“Hunter Biden’s lawyers have belatedly chosen to publicly attack FOX News’ constitutionally protected reporting about their client. Mr. Biden is a public figure, and both the Justice Department and Congress In accordance with the First Amendment, Fox News has been the subject of investigations by two different federal prosecutors, one in California and one in Delaware. “We accurately reported on the subsequent indictment of an FBI informant who was the source of certain allegations about Mr. Biden,” Fox continued.
