On Thursday, police in riot gear attempted to break up an anti-Israel camp at the University of California, Los Angeles, spraying tear gas as they confronted violent protesters brandishing fire extinguishers and pepper spray.
The California Highway Patrol was seen dismantling the tent setup, and the sound of flash bangs echoed across the Los Angeles campus. CNN reported.
Protesters had erected a makeshift wall around the site in a last-ditch effort to prevent infiltration, but police in riot gear with gas masks, batons and zip ties The newspaper added that he appeared to have easily broken through the fray.
Police had previously warned demonstrators that they risked “serious injury” if they refused to evacuate. FOX News Digital reported.
Within minutes, several protesters were found kneeling on the ground with their hands zipped behind their backs, CNN reported.
