A South Carolina pastor claimed Saturday that his wife committed suicide six months after filing for divorce, but her family urged police to “thoroughly” investigate the sudden death.
Micah Miller, 30, was found fatally shot in the head at Lumber River State Park in Lumberton, North Carolina, according to local reports. Robesonian newspaper.
Miller’s husband, John Paul Miller, pastor of Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, announced his death during a recent service after asking members not to discuss the matter in the church. reported the news.
“I received word late last night that my wife had passed away,” Miller said before revealing details of the planned memorial service, which he said was self-inflicted and occurred in North Carolina.

Friends of the pastor’s late second wife were shocked by Miller’s death and urged authorities to investigate “deeply.”
“This needs to be at least looked at in depth. There needs to be some accountability here,” Ken Young said. he told WPDE. “Because there was a tragic loss of life. It’s not as simple as a mental health issue.”
Micah Miller’s death comes as the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office begins investigating the April 27 shooting.
“Officers are currently gathering information from people in South Carolina and North Carolina as part of their investigation into how Mr. Miller died,” Maj. Damien MacLean told the program.
Mr MacLean said there was no indication the community was in danger.
“She had suffered from suicide before. Each time we helped her, took her to the doctor, and we got through it and everything was fine. She was here at church. He gave some testimony, which we videotaped,” John Paul said. “She was struggling with her suicide, but God took care of her and got her through.”
Micah Miller had an affair with her husband in October 2023, with the pastor alleging that they “talked and talked and talked for hours together every night,” according to court records seen by The Post. I filed for divorce.
The case was dismissed in February, but a few days later John Paul Miller filed for “separate child support” for financial support since the couple were still legally married.
Micah Miller also filed for “individual support and maintenance” in April with a hearing scheduled for June 5.
