On Friday, Trump’s former White House aide Hope Hicks took the stand.

She explained to jurors what was happening behind the scenes in the final days leading up to the 2016 presidential election. In particular, she focused on the fallout surrounding the Access Hollywood tapes. Hicks also mentioned the first time she heard about Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels.

The announcement came after the two sides reached an agreement Thursday with a digital evidence analyst who presented jurors with conversations secretly recorded by Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen.

The two reportedly discussed payments to Karen McDougall, but the defense claims this was a standard non-disclosure agreement.

Prosecutors are trying to convince jurors that President Trump paid money to McDougal and Stormy Daniels to influence the 2016 election.

Trump said the count against him was bogus and that Democrats were trying to keep him out of the campaign.

President Trump said he could not testify at the trial because of his disagreement with the judge.

His legal team is also working to appeal the gag order imposed on him.
