Columbia University rioter is an heir to an ad empire, owns a mansion, and has a lengthy criminal record: Report

new york post report One of the most violent leaders of the Columbia University riots had extensive experience as an agitator. He also happens to be the son of a billionaire advertising executive who lives in his $3.4 million brownstone home in Brooklyn.

James Carlson, also known as Cody Carlson, is a “long-time anarchist,” according to authorities. He has a child with the model, and his stepmother is reportedly currently dating John Cougar Mellencamp.

Carlson reportedly has an arrest list dating back to 2005 and is one of three children of advertising executive Richard “Dick” Tarlow and his wife Sandy Carlson Tarlow. That’s what it means.

Dick, who died in 2022 at age 81, left behind an estate worth at least $20 million, according to court records.

The discovery came after pro-Hamas students and agitators carried out acts of violence on campus. After students broke into Hamilton House, authorities liberated the building and ultimately arrested about 100 people.

After the incident, student editors at Columbia Review I was demanded to They are calling for the exam to be canceled, citing trauma from witnessing and experiencing police “violence” against anti-Israel protesters.

“As the governing board of student editors of the Columbia Law Review, we urge the law school to cancel the exam and give all students a passing grade for their work during the semester,” the letter said. It is written in

“The violence we witnessed last night has irreparably shaken many of us participating in the review, and we know this is the same for the vast majority of our classmates. During this tumultuous time, videos of police in riot gear taunting and brutalizing our students have surfaced at night. After that, I lost concentration and became very emotional.

Police were able to free the building, but several officers were assaulted in the process. Although there was considerable damage to Hamilton Hall, it seems nothing compared to the “trauma” experienced by pro-Hamas rioters.

This is a growing pain that many of us have felt for months as humanitarian crises continue to unfold overseas and blatant anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and racism on campuses escalate. This follows. Our response is not disproportionate to the tremendous impact it has had on many of us in the community. Just a few days ago, a crowd of people proudly identifying themselves as members of a white supremacist, neo-fascist hate group stormed our campus.

“Current testing policies raise concerns regarding fairness and academic integrity,” the letter continued. “Many are currently unwell and unable to study or concentrate while their peers are taken to prison.”

Carlson is believed to be one of the masterminds who originally broke into Hamilton House. When The Post reached out to her family, a woman who answered the phone said, “We haven’t talked to him. Leave him alone. He’s been out of our lives for years.” “I will,” he said.

Sources say Carlson is a menace and is a lawyer by trade. He was charged with robbery, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, conspiracy and trespassing.

“I observed the defendant on the premises with several other individuals,” the officer wrote in the police report. “We actually observed exits blocked by doors with broken windows, doors off their hinges, broken desks, and stacked chairs.”
