Ms O’Connell, who was promoted to the role overseeing ABC News in February, is reportedly conducting a leadership review at the company, which could impact Ms Godwin and her team. Ms. O’Connell has expressed her concerns about Mr. Godwin’s “hands-off leadership style,” which she believes will only exacerbate the problem.
“She has to act quickly,” a source close to ABC’s internal affairs told CNN about O’Connell. “The people there are restless. Very frustrated.”
Godwin came under fire for his handling of the affair between former ABC co-host Amy Robach and TJ Holmes in January 2023.
