Knicks fans go nuts again after Game 1 win over Pacers

Knicks fans celebrated in the streets of midtown Manhattan after the Knicks won Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Pacers on Monday night.

As has been the case throughout the playoffs, jubilant Knicks fans occupied 7th Avenue outside Madison Square Garden, and at one point flooded the streets in videos posted on social media.

The Knicks beat the Pacers 121-117 on Monday night, largely because Donte DiVincenzo’s huge 3-pointer with 39 seconds left broke a 115-115 tie.

When the final buzzer rang, the Garden erupted like it was 1994, and the party began outside as fans danced and chanted in the bright New York City streets.

Several videos posted on social media showed Knicks fans jumping up and down and chanting “Go, New York, go!”

Another video showed fans chanting while one supporter waved a giant Knicks flag just outside the main entrance of the world’s most famous arena.

At one point, fans spilled into the street and appeared to be blocking traffic along 7th Avenue, but it appeared to be just a small group.

The party continued as other fans belted out rapper Sheck Wes’ “Mo Bamba.”

Monday night’s victory continued a chaotic playoff run with many games close between the Knicks and their postseason opponents.

“We just found a way.” jalen brunson saidfinished with 43 points, becoming the seventh player in NBA history to score 40 or more points in three consecutive playoff games.

“Whatever it is, we just give each other confidence that we can definitely get the job done. Nothing in particular. [that we’re doing] It’s just a group of guys we have. We all just give each other confidence and move forward together. ”

The Knicks will look for their second straight win against the Pacers in Game 2 at MSG on Wednesday night.
