New York woman goes TikTok viral after printing 500 business cards to help friend find a date

For many people, finding a romantic partner is extremely difficult.

When looking only at social media and dating apps, many people are often overwhelmed by the number of places they can find their “perfect match.”

Natalie Abbatemarco, a 25-year-old content creator from New York, decided to make a difference for one friend.

Abbatemarco recently went viral on TikTok, where he showed how he tried to help a friend get a date using a business card, and as of this report, it had been viewed about 550,000 times.

The content creator told SWNS that he created 500 business cards with his friend’s face on them and included a QR code with a link to his friend’s social media account and a short bio.

Abbatemarco and his friends distributed the cards to eligible men while they were out and about in the city.

She said she gave it to a friend (who asked to remain anonymous) as this year’s funny “Secret Santa” present.

“One of my friends is single, so I wanted to make a gift that would be useful but would also make her friends chuckle,” she told SWNS.

“We were parading around New York City and handing out cards to people who she thought would be like that. [were] cute. ”

Abatemarco said the business card was a “great icebreaker,” but it hasn’t led to an official date, at least for now.

“When you go out, the night becomes a lot of fun,” Abbatemarco said, adding that it usually ends in a “strange situation” for everyone involved.

Abatemarco said if she were single, she would use the business card idea herself.

This isn’t the first time single women have taken things to the next level to find a good match.

In September 2023, Carolina Gates walked the streets of New York City holding a homemade cardboard sign that read, “I’m looking for a husband.”

The 29-year-old told Fox News Digital at the time that it was originally a joke between her and some friends because her dating app wasn’t working.

Gates revised her statement in December 2023 to say she was “looking for a rich husband,” and her TikTok video has been viewed more than 24 million times to date.

Then there was another interesting situation. Michelle Arshad, 24, of Toronto, told SWNS she made a custom stamp to put on her potential spouse’s hand when they go out.

While deleting her Instagram handle, her stamp read, “You’re cute and so am I. Hit me up if you’re single.”

Whenever she met a potential suitor, she said, she simply asked for his hand and stamped it to break the ice.

On the other hand, some women are simply fed up with the whole dating scene and have become “boy sober.”

Carly Galluzzo, a 28-year-old from Long Island, New York, declared she was going to “get sober” after realizing she didn’t have to feel the pressure to date someone all the time.

“I thought we had to continue dating. [and] It didn’t matter whether the men were good or not,” she said.
