Mariah Carey admits that her wildly successful life and career was marred by deep emotional struggles in a first-ever video obtained exclusively by People magazine.
According to a recently released exclusive video, she recalls times when she felt weak and lost while battling mental health, which led to the birth of her 2018 hit song “Portrait.” people. She remembered what was going through her head at that time.
“Where do I go from here? At that point in my life, I didn’t really know the answer to that question,” she reportedly said in the clip.
“It wasn’t like we had a plan to say, ‘Oh, let’s do this, and we’ll have a great day tomorrow, whatever.'” What’s the first line of ‘Rate of a Portrait’?” Carey told People in a clip from ‘Portrait of a Portrait’ released on May 7th.
The legendary singer, known for his high vocal range and outstanding career, spoke about his feelings at the time.
“How to disappear is an even stronger question. How to disappear is like…a person trapped,” she reportedly asks in the footage.
“And the question is, how do I get out of his situation? I don’t know how to get out of this situation. How do I make it disappear? How do I snap my fingers and suddenly I’m not here?” said Carey. said this in a video obtained by People magazine.
“And that’s a very scary, stomach-rolling kind of realization. Or, I guess, an artistic realization.” Carey reportedly admitted.
In a clip obtained by People magazine, the star begins singing part of the song, with the lyrics: “Here on the other side of the mirror/In the middle of nowhere/The heartache never seems to go away/It just keeps going.” focused on.
“And that’s exactly how I felt where I was at the time,” she reportedly added.
