A federal judge has sentenced NBA player Glenn “Big Baby” Davis to 40 months in prison after being found guilty of defrauding health insurance benefits plans.
Last November, Davis was found guilty of health care fraud, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit false statements, and conspiracy to commit health care fraud and wire fraud. If convicted, he faced a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
In addition to his prison sentence, Davis will be subject to three years of supervised release. Meanwhile, Davis must attend financial management classes and undergo mandatory drug treatment as a condition of her release.

Williams, the 11th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, pleaded guilty to copyright infringement and aggravated identity theft. He also admitted to leading a scheme to submit false claims for medical and dental expenses.
“Williams led a scheme involving more than 18 former NBA players, dentists, doctors, chiropractors and others that resulted in millions of dollars being stolen from the NBA Players’ Health and Welfare Benefits System,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement. “I defrauded them,” he said. in August 2022. “Williams also impersonated others to help take what did not belong to him, money that belonged to his scheme.”

Williams agreed to pay $2.5 million in restitution and more than $650,000 in fines.

Davis was a member of the Boston Celtics 2008 NBA championship team. He was ordered to pay $80,000 in restitution.
