The same studio that released the box office hit of 2023 sound of freedom Critically acclaimed movies of 2024 cabrini announced new plans for the project on Thursday, pledging to continue to transform the way movies and TV series are made. Angel Studios has announced three new projects and eight additional previously greenlit projects that are in or have finished production. This means 11 new titles are in the pipeline for the studio known for its emotional family-friendly titles. The announcement was made during Angel’s annual Illuminate event in Provo, Utah.
Angel co-founder Jordan Harmon told members of the Angel Guild, which has approximately 300,000 members worldwide and is solely responsible for green light projects, that “we have several notable new projects. I have a project,” he said.

— One Week Ahead: Seriesa spin-off musical of the popular Netflix musical. one week aheadis the story of a group of foster teens whose lives change for the better after attending a summer camp. “think high school musicalBut it’s much better and much more meaningful,” Harmon said. This will be Angel’s first musical and is scheduled to be performed this fall. His two producers of Netflix films, Alan Powell and Steve Barnett, are behind the new series.

Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum TrotThe film, which will be released on July 4, tells the moving true story of a couple who sparked a faith-based movement that resulted in 22 families adopting 77 children.
Harmon said Hollywood’s film production system is broken.
“A few Hollywood executives sitting in a boardroom in Los Angeles live in a bubble where all their friends think like them,” he said. “They don’t know the rest of the world very well.”
He said that for Angel Studio to get the green light, it would have to go through the Angel Guild.
“We are completely replacing it [Hollywood] It’s a gatekeeper model for the Angel Guild,” Harmon said. “And this is a governance system built to make Angel a studio that continues to uphold her moral compass for more than 100 years.”
Eight previously announced projects are in advanced stages, Harmon said. Their titles are:

— willThis is a modern reproduction of the Acts of the Apostles, and production will end this month.
— Gabriel and the Guardiansan animated fantasy series inspired by ancient Hebrew texts, has completed the script for Season 1 and is entering production.
— homesteadis a post-apocalyptic family survival drama that will soon begin production on Season 1.a homestead The film is scheduled to be released in theaters this Christmas.
— riot and dance, a nature-centered documentary series with a Biblical worldview, has finished production on Season 1 and is scheduled to be released on Christmas Day. The creators of Netflix hello ninja I’m behind it.
— bonhoefferThe film, which tells the story of World War II hero Dietrich Bonhoeffer, is scheduled to be released in theaters on Thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, Neal McDonough and Ruve McDonough have announced a first-look deal with Angel Studios, giving Angel Guild the first opportunity to partner with the couple on a new project. They say Angel makes movies that other studios would reject.
