More than 30 years have passed since Republicans won New Jersey in the presidential election.

However, former President Trump believes that if the state becomes a clear blue state, he will be able to clear the high hurdles he faces.

Wildwood, at the southern end of the Jersey Shore, is part of the Garden State’s Cape May County, a longtime blue state and strongly Republican county.
President Trump held a rally in Wildwood in January 2020, but ultimately lost New Jersey to President Biden by 16 points.
Four years ago, he lost the state to 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton by 14 points.

Trump’s weekend rallies are a short distance from New York City, where he spends weekdays in court and will make history as the first former or current president to be tried in a criminal case.

Democrats don’t seem to be taking Trump’s predictions too seriously.
“Jersey is not going to be a welcoming place for Trump,” Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, a Biden surrogate, told reporters Friday.
Additionally, Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler said, “The Trump campaign is talking about New Jersey. They’re talking about holding a concert at Madison Square Garden to rally voters in states like New York.” “I think the Biden campaign is operating here on Earth.” We remain focused on winning 270 electoral votes. ”
