U.S. Government Has ‘Contingency’ Plan and ‘Doomsday’ Bunkers in Case of Emergency

Cliff Sims, who served as deputy director of national intelligence under former President Donald Trump, said the U.S. government has “contingency plans” in place for “continuity of government” in case of unexpected attacks or emergencies. He said in an interview that he does. Breitbart News Saturday.

When asked about the U.S. government’s “doomsday” bunker, which Sims talks about in his new book. Book, The Darkness Has Not Been Conquered: Lessons on Faith and Politics from Inside the Halls of PowerMr Sims confirmed that the government has plans for these doomsday bunkers.

“You know, I think you’ve probably always wondered, and I’ve always wondered, ‘Does the government really have a plan for all of this?’ and the Director of National Intelligence “What I learned from going into his office is that, yes, we do that,” Sims said. “And there are a series of locations like this across the country, many built during the Cold War and built to survive various apocalyptic scenarios.”

listen:

“One of the things that the government does on a fairly regular basis is conduct continuity of government or continuity of operations planning and exercises. So one day I was in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, We were taken to one of these places and I even had to get permission to talk about some of it in the book. But basically what I will describe is: When we arrive at this location, a huge metal blast door opens into the mountainside and we enter this cold, dark, damp tunnel for hundreds of feet, the walls damp with rainwater. It’s dripping above us and we’re riding in a golf cart and basically going into an underground city.”

“When you get there, there’s office space there. There’s living quarters there. There’s computer systems there. There’s video monitors set up all over the country for surveillance. These disaster scenarios and attacks, Everything else you could think of to accommodate such things is right on our doorstep. And also everything we need to survive for a long time, a fully staffed custom grill. , and even hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, and all sorts of other things where you could order something that resembled normal life.”Sims added.

Sims added that during his tour of Doomsday Bunker, he saw the living quarters that would be occupied in the event of a disaster or attack and experienced different types of scenarios and exercises.

“It was a really, really amazing experience. It was basically like being prepared on a whole other level, where there was a level of preparation going on that was unimaginable. But the U.S. government… has employees who travel every day to various locations around the country and are essentially ready 24/7 for any potential situation, and many of these locations have been in operation for decades. No. The facility we went to hadn’t been activated since 9/11, and people at the top levels of the national security bureaucracy don’t use it often, but they go to work there every day. It was a very fascinating experience because there are people who are doing it.”

“Continuity of Government (COG) certainly has contingency plans in place to ensure that no matter what happens, there is a way to ensure that the government continues to function and that critical services are brought back online and available as quickly as possible. This is a warning that we will respond militarily if necessary. These locations are located across the country and within easy reach of Washington, DC, the seat of power. Some locations are within driving distance, while others are spread out in other locations around Washington, D.C.,” Sims said.

Sims said the “most concerning” scenario is what he calls a “bolt-in-the-blue attack,” an attack that comes “out of the clear blue.”

“This is not a kind of slow escalation, but one day, out of a clear blue sky, all of a sudden, unstable regimes or something all over the country are stolen or taken over by elements within the corrupt government. And this is the most frightening scenario, because as one researcher wrote: darkness has not been conqueredI have also looked into many open source reports regarding this. One researcher suggested that the time between a president learning of an attack and the time he has to decide what to do in the event of an attack could be as little as six minutes. attack. That’s where nuclear football comes into play. ”

“The idea is that there’s a giant red button inside, and if you break it and press the button, other countries will turn to glass. That’s not really the case. The first objective is to find out the identity of the president. So wherever he goes, the president carries a laminated card (we call it a biscuit) with a so-called gold code on it. And those codes are made to verify the president’s identity, and they change all the time. So if some kind of worst-case scenario were to occur and the nuclear football was destroyed, the communications would go to the National Military Command. It opens up and the first thing that happens is to see if that’s actually the case, President, and that’s what the Gold Code is for.
