Former President Donald Trump on Saturday night undermined his response to anti-Israel campus protests, saying President Biden is “surrounded by fascists” in the White House running a “radicalized” Democratic Party.
President Trump told a crowd in Wildwood, New Jersey, of tens of thousands of people: “He is trying to surrender college campuses to anarchists, jihadist maniacs, anti-American extremists who want to rip down the American flag.” “There is,” he said. “They want to destroy it everywhere they go. They want to tear down our flags. All the chaos and violence that’s happening on our college campuses right now is because crooked Joe Biden is trying to figure out what the hell he’s doing. Rep. ISSA responds to rising anti-Semitism within Democratic Party amid anti-Israel demonstrations on campus
“If I become president, I will not allow our universities to be taken over by violent extremists,” the would-be Republican presidential nominee added. “And if you come here from another country and try to bring jihadism, anti-Americanism, anti-Semitism to our campus, we will immediately expel you. The beachside rally, described by Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R.N.J.) as the largest political rally in state history, was designed to serve as a show of force at a critical moment for President Trump. President Trump faces dozens of felony charges. With less than six months left until the election, four separate criminal cases have occurred.
City of Wildwood spokeswoman Lisa Fagan told The Associated Press that based on her own on-site observations Saturday, which has seen “dozens” of other events in the same space, attendance was expected to be 80,000. He said he estimated there were 100,000 people.
