President Biden is expected to speak from the White House on Tuesday morning to highlight what his administration is calling .infrastructure week”
In a release on the matter, the White House said the move was aimed at raising awareness of infrastructure projects started during Biden’s term in office. The week’s name reflects former President Trump’s use of the same phrase, which the current administration has described as an “empty punchline,” the statement said.
Tuesday will also see Mr. Biden take a complicated path on economic policy, including imposing new high tariffs on some Chinese environmental technologies. The measure could theoretically add weight to Biden’s green infrastructure goals, but is likely aimed at boosting the domestic market for U.S. battery and EV makers by putting the brakes on trade in the sector. right.
The president is scheduled to speak at 12:15 p.m. ET.
