The owner and three employees of a New Hampshire daycare center have been charged with sprinkling melatonin into the meals of the children in their care.
Sally Dreckman, 52, the owner of the daycare; and employee Tracy Inney, 51; and Caitlin Filardo, 23. Jessica Foster, 23, of Manchester, was charged with 10 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to Manchester police.
Officials say melatonin was sprinkled on children’s meals served by a corporate daycare center without their parents’ knowledge or consent.

Melatonin is a sleep aid that is generally safe for short-term use, according to the . mayo clinic.

Manchester Police spokesperson Heather Hummel said: “This is an over-the-counter medication that can be given as a sleep aid, but it is extremely worrying that it is being given to children without their parents’ knowledge or consent.” the ministry told WDHD.

The arrest came after a lengthy investigation after authorities were alerted to “dangerous behavior” at the nursery school in November 2023.
