Nikki Sapp, ex-wife of Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, has shown in recent months that she is willing to hit back at critics if she deems it necessary.
Earlier this year, she clapped back at social media users who claimed it was her fault for divorcing the two-time NBA champion. News of the divorce surfaced in January, just before Spoelstra and the Heat agreed to an eight-year contract extension. The deal is reportedly worth around $120 million.
Some social media users criticized Sapp over the timing of the divorce, but Sapp ignored the critics, saying he was part of an “informed society.”

“LOL. I’m going to treat this comment as having less to do with my personal life choices and more to do with a general thought process that I believe many people have. Also , which many people have harassed me over the years,” she wrote on her Instagram Story in January, according to the New York Post. “According to the vulgar, ignorant and uninformed society at large, women cannot ‘win.’
“Women cannot truly love a successful person. No, they are pretending and are in love for money. And if a woman is with a successful partner… If she chooses not to, she is clearly a fool.”

This week, Sapp once again responded to internet trolls. Some social media users recently accused her of posting a “thirst trap” photo on Instagram. However, Sapp refuted this story.
“Please stop with the ‘thirst trap’ narrative, that’s not what I’m here for. I’m 37 years old, I’ve had three babies, I’ve been a dancer my whole life, I went professionally, I danced. I had those kids,” she wrote on Instagram. “In addition to all kinds of healing, it’s also great for fitness and fashion/style.
“And… if you *really* want to see me fall into a ‘thirst trap,’ check out the 2005-2008 Miami Heat Dancers posters and see if that trap… Well…tell me if it was Trappin. It certainly was.”
